Health & Safety Policy

Health & Safety Policy

At ABW, our commitment is to prevent accidents and work-related ill health, while effectively managing health and safety risks associated with our activities. We ensure that all employees receive adequate training to perform their roles competently and are actively engaged in health and safety discussions regarding their daily working conditions.

Health and Safety Management

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to minimize the likelihood of injury or illness.
Communicate health and safety matters through risk assessments, assignment instructions, and clear guidelines.
Ensure access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities for all employees.
Provide necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) free of charge when risks cannot be eliminated through other means.
Educate employees on potential health and safety hazards in their roles and provide training to safely manage those risks, including dealing with aggression and violence.
Health and Safety for Security Staff

Security personnel are often exposed to threats, abuse, and assault. At ABW, we emphasize the importance of reporting incidents, as security workers may otherwise view violence as part of the job. All security staff are entitled to appropriate welfare facilities, which include:

Access to toilets, washing facilities, and drinking water.
Comfortable rest areas, including facilities for preparing hot drinks and food if leaving the premises is not feasible.
Comfortable seating to prevent health issues caused by prolonged standing.
In case of any incidents or accidents, employees are required to report them immediately to the 24-hour control room and contact emergency services if necessary. In cases of disruption to utilities (water, electricity, gas, or sewage), standby facilities will be provided, as per our contractual obligations.

Health and Safety Training

Comprehensive health and safety training is provided to all security staff, covering:

Managing incidents of aggression and violence, and the correct reporting procedures.
Preventing vandalism, unauthorized entry, and tampering with property, including securing gates, fences, and equipment after hours.
Emergency and fire procedures, including fire alarm protocols, exit routes, muster points, and the role of fire wardens.
Location and use of emergency fire equipment, such as extinguishers and hoses.
First aid training, including knowledge of the location and contents of first aid kits, with monthly checks to ensure supplies are replenished.
Management and Responsibility

These health and safety duties are integrated into ABW’s management structure, led by the Managing Director and supported by the Operations Manager. All safety responsibilities are handled by senior management to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.

A full version of the health and safety policy, including roles and responsibilities, is available upon request.
